Volare, oh, oh…

Magical moments often happen unexpectedly when you’re travelling.

We were in Prague, already mesmerized by the fairy tale castles, cobblestone streets, and gothic architecture around the rynek, or central square of the Old Town.

As we wandered around, contemplating a Pilsner Urquell in the hot summer sun, the strains of a familiar song wafted towards us. A busker was singing “Volare” (which we have since learned is actually called “Nel blu dipinto di blu”), made known to us years ago by a popular rendition by the Gispy Kings.

That was fun enough, but then another tourist, clearly moved by the busker’s song, joined in. The two of them finished the song as a duet, enchanted with one another, to the delight of everyone else around.
